My name is Mitchell Everett Kutney. I am self-taught hobbyist photographer, painter and sculptor who claims to be an artist. I tend to live amongst Canadians, though I have found myself in China on occasion. My camera and I have travelled around Israel, France (Paris), China, Canada and America (New York & Hawaii). I have studied Psychology (BA), and Public Policy and Administration (MA), which means I know a little bit about the brain and a little bit more about the government.
I have used two cameras, the Canon XT and the Canon T2i (or Canon EOS 550D), which can be distinguished by the signature series (taken with the Canon XT). Moreover, all photographs taken with the Canon T2i are not Photoshopped. I shoot all of my photographs in .RAW format now, and develop them in a program known as Aperature – which is like a digital darkroom.
With regards to the titling of the photographs, I have gone through various phases in naming my work. The most recent conclusion I have arrived at is that naming the photographs distracts the viewer from experiencing the photograph. Though I recognize the value in naming a photograph, for the time being the titles of my photographs are simply descriptors to help distinguish them from one another and nothing more.
